It’s a fancied up version of the toilet paper roll in the coffee can alcohol deer blind heater. A buddy’s dad showed us that trick back in the early ‘70s.

Yep, them old green, 3-eyelet steel shank boots didn’t have any insulation other than two pairs of tube socks with the red rings around the top.

I don't know if it's just me but it seem like these kids selling something for some fundraising project are never ending nowadays.
Back in the day it seems like you might get hit up for Girl Scout cookies or Little League teams three or four times a year but now it seems like somebody's pestering you with these things is non-ending.

That being said if it's the kid that actually hits me up to buy something my answer is always yes whereas if it's mom or dad trying to hit me up to buy something for their kids project my answer is almost always no.

Kids can learn some good people skills by selling this stuff, but they don't learn shit when their helicopter Mom and Dad do it for them

Well, lets be clear, this is not fundraising (other than they have to donate their profits to charity). This is an advanced level college course that teaches real life by making them actually do it. They have to do a product proposal, form a board, interview kids for positions in their "company", run HR, IT, MKTING, etc. They then do a loan proposal to a local bank who loans them actual money based on their business plan. They then have to design, order and sell the product. At the end, they have to pay back the loan and give the rest to charity. Its a semester long course and freaking awesome.

They have already had some incredible life lessons. One was staffing where they had a kid on their team who didnt show up to meetings, the professor let them fire him. Now they are having product issues regarding shipping costs. The product is manufactured in china, of course, and the vendor came back and changed the quote and doubled shipping costs. Its awesome watching them deal with this cause its real life shit.
