Also depends on area. Here at home they are hard horned and rutting in September. At the lease in San Saba, I’ve seen them still in velvet in late September.
That would be awesome for him, I am sure. Don't remember how old Wilson , I am sure you have told us before, but I shot my first deer at 10, with a .410 single shot with my Grandpa sitting in stand with me. 8pt out of Marion county. I was so proud of that deer.
He will still add a little tine length but the frame is what it is right there. Just keep in mind that they look much better in velvet than they will end up.
