Cold morning like this, my grandmother would include pan fried spare ribs with the usual sausage links for breakfast. Haven't had any like that in 40 years. Sure would taste good this morning with some biscuits & scrambled eggs.

Reminds me of spending time at my grandparents house in Taylor. I used to just sit and watch that glow cherry red. Mesmerizing like a campfire.Originally posted by Kook View Postmine cranked this bad boy up on them cold mornings

My aunt and uncle lived on a farm and planted crops. She had one of those hutch/cabinet thing that had a flour sifter built in on the side. Best sweet taters I ever ate was when she'd coat em in lard and cook em in the oven till the skin was kinda burnt and crispy. Inside was perfect.U.S. Army 2nd Inf Div Veteran

for me its Lake O the Pines with my grandpa. eating chicken fried deer steak with fried potatoes and onions. fried eggs and toast. then deer, squirrel hunting or cat fishing. took me quail hunting twice, but the quail were mostly gone from east Texas by that time. Miss my grandpa and my dad a lot these days. Think they would be proud of me.
