  • Not one of my better moves

We had a deer lease meeting today and I decided to sweep out my stands and clean the plexiglass windows while I was there. I found a wasp nest in the stand and zapped it with spray. There was a big dirt dauber nest on the outside of the window. When I opened that window, there was a medium sized wasp nest attached to the dirt dauber nest and they swarmed me. In my haste to vacate, I jumped about 5 feet and hit the ground running to get out of there.
When you are in your mid 60's, that is not a good move. The pain of wasp stings would be gone by now but my heel is most assuredly still hurting. I've been having some morning pain there that I thought may be plantar fasciitis, I may have accelerated that condition today.
Fugg a bunch of red wasps.

I'll never understand why grown men are such big pussies when it comes to a bee or a wasp

I swell up bad. If hit in the neck I’d be in trouble.

Ditto, and I get big lumps in my lymph glands,,, or I use to, it's been a long time since I've been hit.

One of our major spenders at our local DU banquets got stung by a bee. I bet he was dead within 20 minutes.

Well let me tol' you this about that. I keep bees as a hobby. The most stings I've taken at one time is 17. On my face and neck. That smarted.

But I had one fly up my cargo shorts and sting me in my pecker. That one smarted too....but momma got a smile later. So it was worth it.

Been stung so many times as a kid, I hardly flinch anymore. I've seen grown men go nuts flailing and such when a bee comes near them. I just brush it away without a second thought. Found this in my feeder a few years ago........

I've been stung plenty, but when the swarm comes directly at the face, I'm leaving. Kinda wishing now that I'd just taken a sting or two and slowed down on that jump.

Many years ago I used to hang paper on billboards. Standing up there on a cat walk with wasp stinging you is no fun but nothing you can do but ease away and deal with it.

Never got stung. They were flying around my head and arms. Just stay cool and back away. To get the raid can.
