  • Never Underestimate the power of a little old lady

A long time family friend fell and broke her hip. Her husband is part of our old men's breakfast group. Me, I'm at the hospital looking out for Momma and she goes away for an MRI. So I decided to go check on Mrs Permenter and her husband.

I get there, she hears my voice, calles me by name, and bids me come closer so she can see me.

Then she takes my hand, pulls me e down and gives me a kiss on the cheek. Then proceeds to tell me how much she loves me. Then she starts calling out each member of my family by name, speaks about each one and how she is praying for them.

It was about then I squeezed a word in edge wise. Just to ask how she was. Of course she was fine and this hip thing wasn't going to keep her down.

After five minutes I told her that I needed to go. Her physical therapy was waiting outside of her room for me to leave. "Child I know. That's why I got your hand. Don't leave me just yet."

Got dang it was a dusty walk back to Momma's room. They just don't make folks like that no more.

When I think about the power of little old ladies I think more along the lines of Louise Hathcock
