  • Bittersweet...last run with Mason (you old heads round here will appreciate)

Havnet whipped yalls ass in a while with the boys, but this one is hitting me hard. Mason has his 1st scrimmage tonight so that means his last rasslin season. Head to Iowa next week, then the season starts for real. It looks like he will wrestle in college so hope i get to keep watching. He has been admitted to the honors college/engineering programs at OSU, ARK, Kansas, Wichita St and CO school of mines...but damn, 10 months from now we are empty nesters...fuck, im not that old.

in other news, Austin is a SO at OU and is doing great. has a bad ass house off campus with some good kids, changed his major to finance and is killing it. also started jujitsu and loves it.

anyway...ill say what all the old dudes here told me years ago.........enjoy EVERY SECOND, they are gone before you know it.

    it goes in a hurry.

But one of mine never left.

He lives next door and him, his wire, his kids or all of them are here pretty much every day.

Good thing their momma runs a tight ship, because if it were you OP, well, you know.

Just messing with you, congrats. You and momma should give yourselves a pat on the back.

you know, its weird. from kindergarten, i told them i expect A's, nothing less. my wife pulled me aside and said "you never made a fucking A in your life". true, but if you set that bar high, you never know. Mason is #9 in a class of 1200 kids and has never made anything less than an A his entire life. Poor kid never knew i would have been ok with B's and C's. hahaha, fooled him!

My parents ended up being very accepting of C's.

Congrats on a job well done!

                    D is for Diploma.

Not that I wasn’t constantly getting my butt tore up from that belt though from bad grades.

Well said and good for him for staying on a mat. Wrestling guys dominate jits until they meet another guy that has been around a while or used to wrestle. I kinda remember when ur kids got into wrestling. Seemed like an eternity ago or about how long it took to get my black belt.

I got my #1 off the pay role last year although he was out of the house and in college in 2017 which technically made me somewhat of of an empty nester which was a good thing since Harvey destroyed my house anyway. My #2 is in 8th grade so still a while yet to be fully in ur shoes. Anyway, congrats I guess.

You going to finally buy me a beer?

Not sure how you did it but it sounds like you got some great boys.

We are still playing football. I think we can get to the final 4 but I don’t think we can win it.

Congrats Swing. All we can do is try and raise good humans.

We're on year 2 of empty nest. It's not bad till I have to mow the grass. I kinda miss fishin with him though.

Glad to hear they are doing well Rut. We are in the same boat. Youngest boy off the college next Fall. Momma and I are going to ramp up our fishing game I’m hoping along with following his college baseball. Good luck to them.
