  • Whole Cow

    Its a bit of a long story but I am getting an entire cow from a friend I just have to pay processing fees. How much freezer space would an entire cow take? Should I sell half of it off or keep the entire thing?

    I don't need the money and with beef prices I think I would prefer to keep the entire thing.

        Best I've been able to figure out from the youtube's, you'll need about 16 cf of freezer space.

                Just filled a 21 ft yesterday with 942 lbs hanging weight and then spilled over to another freezer.

                          Ground beef 1.5 packages

                          My dad made beef broth with the bone.

                          The next time I do it I will pay extra to have all burger to be made in patties and single wrap steaks instead of packs of 4.

                          370 hanging weight was my half.

                          The butcher that did mine lets them hand 2-3 weeks and all cuts have been great.

                          Registered Angus beef.

                          5 bucks a pound

                          1 buck a pound processing
