The gas motor in the titan is strong, but don’t expect Nissan to stand behind their product if it sludges the inside of the motor and needs a new one. Even if all maintenance is done at Nissan.

Motor built excessive sludge and would not properly open exhaust valves and go into limp mode. Multiple dealer trips and next time I warranty was replace shirt block. Dealer claimed no due to “neglected maintenance” even though all maintenance was done at dealer past 8k mikes when truck was purchased. Comfortable truck, decent power (the XD is a “heavy half” in a way), and as already said terrible MPG. Towing a 16 foot enclosed expect to stop every 200 miles.

Nissans are not bad in my opinion, but it has not been an isolated incident according to online forums. I have less trust in the little Cummins as it’s out of production and never caught on strong. If the titan and xd line do not get a bigger following I would bet Nissan gives them the axe and that could effect resale down road.

Do like my tundra but they are dated, and new one is not proven yet.

Doe has one with new catalytic converters. May PM him and see if he will sell.
