Zone "O" 11U state champs. They ran the table and dominated the final 11-1. The team hit 3 two-run homers in the final against a pitcher that had pitched a perfect game earlier in the tournament. That was one happy group of kids.

The first home run was a huge shot over right field. Even the pitcher went up and high fived the hitter afterwards. Good sportsmanship isn't totally dead.

Congrats! It's really good to see that type of sportsmanship these days. Covid has killed it around here on the fields with hardly any handshakes after the games. Pisses me off!

Awesome! We had a 1st, 2nd and 5th place showing for our little club in the NBC state tournament this past weekend. Started with 1 team in 2016 and have funneled a young team in each year since as well as adding a couple of 2nd teams to some age groups and had 9 teams this summer. Not too shabby for a town of 20,000, been fun to watch it come together.

Update on the baseball. They are at the Dixie World Series in North Carolina this week. They run ruled the NC team 11-1, lost 2-0 to a real stout SC team, won a slug fest against MS 16-15 (on a walk off single with bases loaded) and run ruled the TN state champs today 17-4.
These boys can hit, those scores show how good the pitching was for SC.
They are in the semi-finals tomorrow with the final coming on Thursday.
Since they dropped a game they are coming up thru the loser's bracket which means I'm hoping for a one game final. It's hot there and a double header wouldn't be a good thing, but I don't know how it's scheduled. Keep a good thought, they've represented Texas well so far.
