  • SCOTUS rules against Tarfiffs

So what is everybody’s opinion of what their ruling does to our economy?

Haven't seen the ruling, but I don't think they ruled against tariffs per se
.I imagine they ruled on the issue of separation of powers.

With regards to what it will do for the economy , I am opposed to increased taxes in any way shape or form
Rather than raise taxes. How about we cut spending and balance the budget and eventually, whittle down the national debt\nThis news

We spend more money on interest on the debt than we do on defense, which is disgusting.

They didn't neccassarily rule against the tariffs just the what he used to implement them.

as for the economy, I don't think you will see much of any effect at least short term

            2020-2024 would say otherwise

The ruling was about the method the president used to impose the tariffs.

Now is time to just bite the bullet. Raise interest rates. Make the dollar worth something again. Send a tariff parity bill through congress.

The Viking Kittens alone posses the power and will to save us...

National Debt is nearing $39T and projected to be near $44T by the end of next year.
Raising rates only increases the national interest burden. Neither party wants to reign in spending. Default would be Game Over. Inflation is the only way out.

Let me know when we reach the time that $40T does not seem like an unreasonable debt to service. The good old days are definitely far behind us.

PS - AI shit storm is approaching fast. We all have our heads in the sand thinking it will end up another Y2K scenario. That's hopeful thought, but the reality may be painful even if we reach the best possible outcome.

This is the hard truth. As long as our government is occupied by foreign interests, our debt will only continue to rise and it's always on our dime.

🚨 JUST IN: Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent just STUNNED the "Experts," he and Trump have been making big plans and it's FULL-STEAM AHEAD

Tariff revenue will be *unchanged* in 2026. Boom.

"Let's be clear about what today's ruling WAS and what it WASN'T. Despite the misplaced GLOATING from Democrats, ill-informed media outlets, and the very people who gutted our industrial base, the Court did not rule against President Trump's tariffs."

"Six justices simply ruled that IEEPA authorities cannot be used to raise even $1 of revenue."

"This administration will invoke alternative legal authorities to replace the IEEPA tariffs."

"We will be leveraging Section 232 and Section 301 tariff authorities that have been validated through thousands of legal challenges."

"Treasury's estimates show that the use of Section 122 authority, combined with potentially enhanced Section 232 and Section 301 tariffs, will result in virtually unchanged tariff revenue in 2026."
