Practice Makes Perfect

Have my regular group of January bird hunters coming this Wednesday through Sunday, but we had the perfect storm, literally, with an inch of rain Thursday and 3-5” of snow Friday so rounded up a few family and friends and we put in a full day yesterday. Dogs worked beautifully and birds sat like they’d never been hunted with the snow which was completely melted off after lunch. Eleven roosters and 32 quail, hopefully it’s a sign of what’s to come this next week.

Seventeen roosters and 11 quail today. Not a bad start. Supposed to blow 50-60 tomorrow so I’d guess a full day of Wellers.

Ten rooster and four quail before it became unbearable about noon. N of 40mph sustained. We’ll give it one more run tomorrow before everyone blasts out Sunday morning.
