Hit Nfl on Friday. Three of us hunting. Chopper flight 30 miles into wilderness. Can’t hunt the same day as flying but we went out scouting, we saw ~20 moose half were bulls, saw at least three that would would definitely be shooters. Sunday morning we get out. Walk up the mountain first bull killed is 700 yards from camp. With a caribou bull standing 150 yds from us.
Get him gutted and propped open keep moving. Walked up on another bull about another 3/4 mile away. While trying to decide to shoot him (340 yds) he moves over a hill. We follow but can never find him again. We set up to glass below where we think he went. Literally 2 minutes and look behind us and there is another bull 450 yds up the mountain but not a good shot due to being just behind a slight rise. Move in on him get to a small rise and find him again. Setup at 260 yds and popped a cap in him. He stumbles and starts wobbling. Clean him up with a second shot, #2 is down.

Get to my bull. Take a few pictures and look west and another bull walks over a ridge ~450 yds. We setup and the bull just keeps walking to us. My buddy decides 80 yds is close enough. Dead bull #3.

3 bulls down in 3 hours 15 minutes. We saw a total of 23 moose in that time frame. Never seen anything like this. Had everything boned out and back in camp by 4:00. May be the toughest walking I have ever done. From camp to the last bull was 1.25 miles. We flew out the next day at 2:00 and was the last flight of the day until Thursday due to high winds.

How the heck you transport all that meat back? Buy a used VW van and light it on fire when you get back?

                    And congrats!!

Umm, that was a compliment to how fast they got it done, not typical for moose hunts to go that quick with three animals

I wanna be Byron when I grow up. I’ll be up that way in early December. Unfortunately not for play.

Outfitter has a transport company that comes down the east coast in Jan. They pick up from the processor, ferry to the main land then through customs. They deliver as close as Tulsa but my buddy is in NC and is going to grab his and mine drop his at his house and put mine in a freezer and drive to my house to deliver the next day. Freight for the delivery is ~ $500, antlers add $100
