Cracking down on copper theft?

Copper thieves are stealing it right off the lines and anyplace else they can find it. Out here they have broken into the water supply facility and sewage treatment plants and stole all the copper shutting down service for hours. Both facilities have switched to using aluminum to make replacement a little cheaper.

The Houston Police says they are going to crackdown on this shit but this is the same department that just eraced away a backlog of 250,000 rape cases because they didn't have time to investigate.

250,000 rape cases? That seems excessive. That boils down to like 1 of every 9 people in Houston has been raped.

On a side note, I can’t tell you when we will get the next call for a copper theft repair, but we get one every year the Monday after the Super Bowl.
Apparently meth-heads work that day.

Around here they will just throw a rope over a cable on a poll and drive until they get down what they want and hack it off. It's usually telephone pairs.

Yesterday day it was welding leads left out in the ship yard. They run hundreds of feet of lead out. Thieves come by boat after dark and hack off a chunk. This happened to occur on an island that is in Louisiana but connected to Texas buy a barge made into a bridge. A little different. Office and entrance in Texas. Work sight is over the bride on the island in Louisiana.

They heat up a razor knife and split the big cover off. Then the little stuff they burn and take the copper out of the ashes.

They ain't getting much for dirty copper. They still do it though.

Under da cover is more plastic wrapped in plastic ribbon Also. I would think der would be nuttin left in da fire but purdy colors
