Fuck the Establishment Republicans, they are the problem.

To what end? The Texas Legislature passes some sort of fine. Then what? It gets paid by the DNC or some other lobbyist? It's meaningless drivel. Remove them from committees or chairmanships. They are freaking democrats in an extreme minority. They have no chairmanships or meaningful places on committee.
Besides. They had to come back for the whole redistricting thing. That's the fight. This voter bill was just sort of a big deal. Had they not returned redistricting would have gone to a committee fo senior elected officials, all republican. The democrats would have had no standing in court because they had abandoned the process.
The democrats showed themselves to be a minor inconvenience in Texas.
Now, you want to do something. Make ti a felony to abandon an elected public office. Even then, they would just all call in sick. Because the law would have to include some sort of reasonable just cause exemption.
The article is stupid and short sighted. For once the legislature did something right. Just let the fools be fools. They were over a barrel the whole time.
