Stoeger 3500

Are they a decent gun I don't really have faith in a turkey made gun for durability but have one friend that has had one for awhile and says it's good.
Considering a franchy or bereta if I have to go to a thousand dollar gun

I have a buddy that has one. He wants to buy another one, if that is any indication.

I wouldn't hesitate to go with either of those other brands you mentioned, either.

I have known of 2 guys with the Stoeger. One of them claimed it was a boat anchor the other thinks its the best thing since sliced bread.

I was going to suggest one of the Sbe II " classic" or "American" versions. They came without comfort tech bells and whistles stocks. They were both under a grand when I purchased them. But alas, they have been discontinued. The one version was discontinued in 2006. Time has really gotten away from me.

If I had to Choose a current production gun, it'd be the Beretta. The Kick Off stock or whatever they call it is some Voodoo gimicky B.S. though.

This is my gson graduation from hs gift.
Wanted something rust proof and that will shoot all shells
I see the beretta 400 is the 3.5" version and like 1800
Thought the franchy 3.5 is around 1200
Having hell finding a 3500 with a 26" barrel that's within 3 hrs
Did find one at Scheels in dallas.but I'm already delayed on a gun at bass pro in bossier so not driving to Dallas to be delayed
So called a ffl pawnshop to see about getting it sent there and they said they had a used in great condition one for 450

Bought one for my 13 yr old son. It has been a great gun and have had no problems.

Dad had what i bet was an earlier model. Piece of junk. He spent half the time on hunts either trying to turn it from a single shooter back into a semi or trying to extract a stuck shell. Maybe his was a one-off lemon or they fixed the problems in the 3500 but that experience would keep me from buying a Stoeger.

Well pawnshop was wrong not a 3500 it was a pump..
Academy had 3500 28" and a Beretta 300 on clearance....
So I guess my gold is going in the case this year.

I shot the 3” version for years when I had the poors. It was decent and I shot it well. The extractor pin broke so I sold it as is and moved on. I shot a lot of birds with it. The fit and finish are not great.

Buddy of mine has a Stoeger (don’t know model) and put side x side with my SBEII, it looked like a direct knockoff. You could tell quality and fit/finish differences, but direct knockoff none the less.

I’ve got a 3500, son has a 3000. No issues whatsoever with them, albeit we haven’t shot them much in the past few years. When I bought them I grabbed a few hundred mixed rounds with everything from light 8’s to 3 1/2” buckshot. Dumped them all in a box, oiled the guns up and we went to town with a box of clays and a hand thrower. Just grab and go, no method to it (other than the obvious 3 and 3 1/2”). Out of all that, I think we had one failure to extract, and it was an old rusty shell. They ate everything we put in it.


And they will also float the fourth.
