Ha! No you go and hope for the best, but have low expectations. No refunds, no transfers, no exchanges. I will just scout it out for when I draw it again when I'm 75 years old.
Bluegoose I have 17 spring turkey points. It really has become a total lottery with being able to apply for every area. Back when you could only pick one area per hunt code odds were more reasonable.

Facts. I believe the computer application process has FUBAR'd the whole system. When I heard people saying their bill was $300, $400, etc, I knew I was screwed.

I took my grandson there in 2021 for the youth gun either sex tag. It was hot during the hunt and we only seen a handful of deer. Saw one nice buck in the 140" class early one morning driving to our compartment. He shot the best buck we saw on the last morning of the hunt and it was a 110" 8 point, 7.5 year old deer. I was hoping we would've seen more deer, being it was at the end of December. I did notice they reduce the number of hunters this year for the hunts.
Good luck on your hunt.

The texas draw is awful for antelope. 9,898 applicants for 12 tags, and even then only a 50% success rate. It wll take you 824 years to draw, simple math, no preference points factored in. So pretty much none of us will ever draw the Rita Blanca tag. Private lands pronghorn tags are even worse odds, 1 in 2000Originally posted by Oxbow View PostAgree, I have 23 pts on pronghorn and still waiting.
I been preaching the gospel - anyone that really wants to shoot a pronghorn, you need to buy points in WY or MT. WY will take longer to draw but better quality experience. I can tell you exactly where to go look in both states. MT you should get to go within 3 years if not sooner. It is the cheapest easiest out of state hunt you can do, can drive or fly and rent a car. Fly, rent & hotel costs about $1500, can drive and camp on BLM for cheaper, just really gas and foods.

Had two TX landowner tags this year and didn't make the trip due to a family funeral.

Tap your sarcasm meter. I think it may be hung up. I know the difference. I was my second grade class spelling bee runner up. I also know it puts a bur under ducko's saddle so I like to point it out in case he misses it.Originally posted by AvianQuest View Post
