I think the SAAMI also standardized a version of the 17 Hornet. If those won’t do it for you there are about eleventybillion 17 wildcats.

This is the 17 cal wildcat display at the Whittington Center. Didn’t get a pic of the .17/5o BMG

ETA: I did have a pic

My LT. is in the desk across the way right now. This has spurred a .17 discussion. He has a .17 Hornet he has not shot yet. Ammunition, as you can expect is $$$$$. Yall actually got me looking at a 17 HM. I have been kicking around varmint hunting behind my house as just a something else to do. DO I do it with my .22 Hornet, that is $ to shoot, use my work AR which will do it, buy a reasonable .223 bolt gun which I like but is $ to shoot, buy that Savage .17 HMR with that 16 inch barrel that could be canned to soften the crack and still not be crazy long and shoot reasonably priced ammo?

Assuming HMR, I love it so much I have 2. I've killed turkey sized birds to a ranged 212 yards with a NEF single shot with a Tasco. Piles of coyotes and few pigs. It is loud but I find it flatter and funner than 22lr or mag

Second rifle is a bolt savage I shoot suppressed. It's about 22lr quite with a can
