  • Gehl skid loaders

Anyone have experience with them? Been in the market for a 65-75hp machine for a bit, and continually run into beat to hell bobcats, kubotas, and cats w/1000-1500hrs for a bunch of money. I’ve also seen several Gehls w/900-1400hrs for less, and in better condition. I figure that’s either a good or bad thing…

    What gives?

Right, but you'd have actually gotten useful help if you would have. Unfortunately on this topic, you're screwed. lol

Home Depot has them in their rental fleet. The company dates back to the 1800's and they still make them in South Dakota.

That's all I've got. Have not operated one.

Never ran one but I worked construction a long time ago with my old man. Their company ran a few of them.

They didn’t buy cheap they always ran quality gear.

I actually got ahold of someone at a dealer in service and sales…which is a welcomed sign as compared to North Texas Bobcat, you’d have thought having someone in their store was an inconvenience.

They are lower tier units, easy. The other three are designed for heavier use. Gehls are good for what Ghels are good for. It's like comparing 120 HP Kubota to a 120 HP John Deere. I have one of each. The JD will out work it all day every day. But the Kubota is faster and nimbler in the hay field moving bales. The cheaper units are that way because they are built cheaper. Again, they have a place, you just have to decide if it is your place.

the reason they have less hours and are cheaper is because they are always in the shop.
