  • Winchester SXP Hybrid Hunter

Got a new waterfowler down here wanting a shotgun but not the high dollar one yet. How are these Winchesters?

I don't know anything about them

Target Focused Life on YouTube reviews a bunch of shotguns. Might have something there

Several years back, they had problems with the fire control...would go boom when it wasn't suppose to but I'm sure they've worked that out by now.

I inherited one of those from my grandpa... looks like brand new
And will stay like that cause no one will be hunting with it

I have a short barreled SXP that I bought in Academy and threw in the boat 5 or 6 years ago. The guts look identical to my old winchester 1300 defender, but cheaper, thinner parts. I've never fired it.

And for even less an sx2. Both were decent guns especially for someone starting out.

would rather buy a good used auto for $400 than another pump.

Owned about 4 or 5 over the years and never an issue

You have a bad experience with one? I never did here many bad thinga about them. I ended up with a Mossberg 935 that I picked up for $300 about 10 years ago for my first auto.

I have NIB 870 Field version that I would sell for a good price. Even with shipping and FFL it would be a good deal.

Years ago I almost bought the Baikal O/U because they were being sold in Austin for 299....then i ran into someone who actually had one and it kicked so bad i said no thanks...then a friend of mine sat me down and set me straight about buying cheap guns....kind of go with the motto of if I cant afford a name brand quality gun then keep saving the money until you can, last cheap gun I bought was a Remington Express 870, ended up selling it after two years
