I see the Hudson at 5 hundred something
    Is this the new design
I've found one for 350 on sale
    Is this the old design
What is the benefits of the new vs old design if that's what I'm seeing
    Thx

If one is old and one is new, a don't think there would be enough to justify the price difference. My old duck oven had two bad zippers after 5 or 6 years.....they sent me a brand new replacement and it's much improved, but I wouldn't have paid a 40% premium for it.

I feel you. I wait till Academy marks down their Magellan stuff but honestly it actually hasn't let me down yet and kinda looks like Drake stuff anyway.

I mean I hunt in Okie and Kansas every year and last year it was single digits and I am still here and all them Sitka fricktards looked just as cold as me.

It's for my gson my Drake is still good
I get about 6 7 season out of my Cabela's they replaced one after 6 season.
So if it was goretex it should last 20 seasons? Maybe replace zipper
The Hudson is supposed to be truly waterproof and has a fluffy layer inside
Twice as high as my Drake at the 350 price
But if he has this coat 20 yrs......

Did they have the sitka gaiter and gloves?
If they didn't they probably were cold

I don’t get the sitka craze for duck hunting. I know sitka is doing it for $$$. But for hunters, it’s all a status thing at the boat ramp.

Sitka started off as a niche mountain/back pack hunting thing. Nobody else was making lightweight and synthetic hunting gear. Goat/sheep hunters will pay stupid money for lightweight gear that shaves ounces off their packs, and for gear that is 100% synthetic that will dry from body heat only. Your grandpappy’s carhartt bibs ain’t gonna cut it on the mountain. But duck hunting? If I get wet I’m gonna tough it out till it’s time to head back to the ramp and get in a warm truck, or if I’m being a puss that day, I’m gonna head to the ramp early. But you have the option to get warm easily. When you’re in sheep country, and you slip crossing a creek, you don’t get to warm up by a fire. The closest tree is 50 miles away.

We live in a world of look at me sitka, giant utv with ac/heat and 100k trucks.

98% of them can hardly hike back to the spread after parking that giant can am much less build a fire on a mountain. Forget about packing a sheep out after they kill it

Always thought it was BS but got a discount on rain jacket and hat with ear flaps 3 yrs ago and it was and still is the shiite. Wear just about every day and still not a leak. Was lucky to have a Cabelas last a season. YMMV.
