So.. Want to send my nephew to summer camp next summer. Interested in quality of activities, reputation for safety, quality of campers, and overall experience. I always hear about Mystic for the girls, what is the boys equivalent?

Spent many summer days at Urland, Bill Stark, and Tahoya.
A few of the guys I ran with went to the high dollar camps..Longhorn, etc.
My Dad woudn't pay the money to send me to a "country club camp". Looking back, I'm glad I did the BSA route. Sure, they learned how to sail, golf, play tennis, etc. I learned to fish, shoot, start a fire, etc.
Really a shame how the Scouts have been minimalized. It was a good route for low income kids, especially from urban areas, to learn useful skills.

I’m sure they’re are still some good troops out there that don’t have the woke bullshit and teach the young men real skills, but finding a good troop is not something auto can do for his nephew from afar.

Yep... I am trying to get a titty baby with poor parental messaging involved with boys and boy type shit, whether it be tennis, golf, or outward bound type of shit. Something that will be a good time, be safe, generate an interest that is not my sister's, create friendships, and motivation for life. I know, I am expecting to much, but just a spark would be good.

They do a lot of water sports (ski, wakeboard, blob/swimming) and shooting is part of it, too. There's no golf, but they do sail a little on the equivalent of a sunfish or something.
