Follow up on prop issue

Wasn't the prop. Changed props & same thing. Something going on with the motor. Starts fine, idles fine, acts fine in every way until you lower the prop in the water & the rpm drops & no thrust. The deeper you lower the prop the more it lugs down. Lift it back up & up goes the rpms. The diagnosis continues.

Ignition coil(s).

coils are probalbly fine, Ronnie check to make sure both cyl have compression then check to make both have spark. Odds are you have a bad diode and only running on one cylinder

Fuel. Clean carb if spark checks out

pull one spark plug wire then the other while it is idling. if there is no change, that coil is bad.

Thanks for the advice fellas ( most of it anyhow). Found oil where it shouldn't be on the right side. Going in the shop Monday.

I was gonna say one cylinder too
Blew the soot out of mine today hasnt been run since last year..
Trim wouldnt go down and wouldnt idle this morning but we made it to spot. Then after it warmed up this afternoon it started working was able to open her up and clean her out .
Damn sure dont need to spend money on that sucker right now
