FFBT: primer bulb

Anybody got a trick for getting the primer bulb ends to slide easily & completely into the fuel line? Got both ends about half way on & they stopped. Can't pull off or push on farther.

Soap helps but main thing is to use the right size hose for the size of the barbs.

Old & on the boat. Heat gun is my go-to but not in this case. Like the hot water.

Replace old fuel line when replacing old bulb. Also the bulb may have built-in stops to keep the fuel line from going in too far. Slit the old one to see the internal structure
