  • Mind semi-blown

I was driving this morning towards Caddo Mills, TX and noticed a BIG buck step out of some woods in Royse City. Couldn't believe my eyes. This was on FM 548 near the volleyball court if anyone is familiar with that area. Where the real skinny bridge is. Between 276 and I-30. Son of a gun was NICE !!! Probably a 3 yr old 8 point.

I know No-Tox and Native Arkie know there I"m talking about. I've been here 21 years and never seen a single deer anywhere around here, or in Rockwall County at all.

That was darn cool to see that big ol boy steppin out to a plowed field!

SEC of SH5 & FM546 (Harry Mckillop) as you come into McKinney. Seen deer a few times. Population around Lake Lavon is improving.

Little known around here about deer, there is a decent population in Rockwall County. That creek runs down towards Poetry. There's usually at least one brute killed along that creek every year around 276. Tight lips about it though. I've seen pics of them and have seen them in the fields when driving through there.

Lol. Nah. Pretty heavily populated area. No leasing opportunities unless you either know the landowners or own it yourself.

Yep, know exactly where that is. I've seen deer on that stretch but only does out in a field typically right before you get into RC. Being archery and buck only county, not a lot of effort is put in by outsiders and locals just hunt their own land. Lots of backwoods going East from 548 that is between 276 and I-30.
