Another Catfish Slaughter Today!

We had a really good one today. Caught over 50 fish. Used up every bait we had. Kept 14 of the biggest ones for family friends that asked for a few. Best day for us this season. Had several double hook-ups today.

Way to go David & John! You did it right, getting out early. My bunch wanted to fish but they can’t get up & out before noon. So I’m sitting in the shade & wind, drowning a couple worms while they talk non-stop. Sure will be happy if nothing bites! 😆

Dad called me this morning and said storm coming tonight. He's the "weatherman" at this point. I played hookie from work and we had our own slaughterfest. I actually called it as I was give out from catching the damn things.
Taking a break from cleaning and logged in. Gotta get back to it. I hope we get some rain. Going to cook us a couple tonight and give these away. Kept 50 Channels and turnt loose prolly that many more.
Good times. I dunno how many mpre trips the old dude has in him, but I plan on taking his old cantankerous azz every chance I can.

I kept 6 of the smallest ones we hooked, for me and the old man to eat.
. These are the only catfish worth eating in my book. Fry em whole and go to work.

Barrel is dated 1903. Great Grandfather's kerosene barrel that 4 generations have cleaned fish on. Perfect height.

I hated fishing on Conroe after about 9am. All the damn wake boats get the whole damn lake churned up. I liked to drift and bump big baits off the the bottom. Biggest we caught was a little over 30 pound blue.

1000%. I was yanking the kid around in a tube on Conroe about 15 years ago and thought I was going to run over a jet flea. I had to shut down several times to keep him from going between the boat and kid. No cell phone to call green jeans with us unfortunately.
