  • Glorious Rain

I figure my opening day tomorrow with the Grandson is Ruint as far as killin birds.. It seems we got the mother of all rains last night. NOT GONNA COMPLAIN ONE BIT.
Lake Leon came up 4 1/2 feet overnight and will likely crest the next few days.

Dukfvr, I hope your place got it. I know West of ya got 9.5 inches.

We've gotten enough that it overflowed my rain gauge at 5 inches. Playa lakes may hold water for a bit, I hope.

We would be more than happy to oblige, until it starts interfering with my getting into fields to hunt.

Shit man, we will take all yall can send. The spot I was going to hunt in the morning is under 2 ft so far. I'd imagine all that feed will be 6 ft under by tomorrow.
Will haul the camp stove and eat breakfast with him anyhow. Should be fun

Gonna have wet britches chasing roosters on the opener tomorrow but damn thankful for the moisture! I think we’ll end up around 2” or so when the faucet shuts off overnight.

My Dad will be up your way in a couple weeks.

He leaves next week for a few days in South Dakota at some lodge up there. Taking his shorthairs with him and will hunt his way back from South Dakota to Texas. Think he plans on hitting Nebraska and then Kansas. He doesn’t really know where he’s gunna wind up, he’s gunna safari it and just see where the wind takes him.

Yep, finally getting some rain up here too. Not as much as needed but Texoma has come up a foot with both Red & Washita dumping more in steady. Hunting private tomorrow but hoping the public gets right through the week. Need some cooler weather.

Hell yeah, I've drug a plow. The pisser is me not wanting to disappoint a 5 year old. He will be 6 in December and I wont have any gripe. Time to grow up. He's almost a man.

                          She's FULL!

Make for some good crappie fishin this sprang.
We may leave the scatter rifles at home and go catch some catfish. I'd imagine my scouted spots will be submerged by 8 ft before this is over.

                          THANK GOD!

I sure hope it puts some water in the highland lakes. And Canyon. May be too far north.
