  • Vacuum sealers

I know this question is 30yrs old…normal for a vacuum sealed bag of meat to “loosen” up when thawed? Like air is getting in but I can’t find a failure of the seal. Should I double seal?

Probably so on all accounts. I double seal when I have the time but often feel it's a waste of time in the long run.

I gave up, butcher paper as tight as you can get.

I only use vacuum sealers for veggies, berries, etc that are frozen. For deer meat and other meat I wrap tightly with saran wrap, then use freezer paper. Keeps meat for over a year.
