Met him in person a couple of times. Once at a very small dinner with 7 or 8 couples, including his wife. This was before the TV show when the only people who knew who he was were duck hunters. He gave his testimony and seemed incredibly sincere/genuine, as did miss Kay.

All that to say, I don't care for what's become of duck hunting since duck dynasty, but I don't fault them for making piles of money.

What I don't understand is all the hate for a guy who seems to have truly been reborn and was fortunate enough to make a great living doing something he loved? Is it jealousy or what? I would truly like to know why all the disdain for the guy?

Dane, the only truly honest man on earth got crucified. What do you expect to happen to a guy that just lays it all out there for the world in denial to see?

Another favorite couple of mine. When I see them they get hugs and I tell them that they are heros every time. He messed up and cheated on her. She got hurt and went out and cheated on him. Immediately they realized that they screwed up and didn't want to live without the other. However, stupid pride kept them from making the first move. He called me all emotionally messed up and we talked for a couple hours. Finally he reached out to her. They are great today.

WE are human and screw up, badly. The beauty is in overcomeing that.

When the father in the story of The Prodigal Son saw his son returning, "From a far off ". The father ran to meet him. He moved the goal posts closer, not farther away. Got dang why do we as prideful people make it harder for people to do right?

There is no doubt Facebook, instagram etc plays a HIGE role in this self gratification look at me stuff but these forums were around long before that. Isnt that where the tailgate photos started??
